About us
Danmission is a Danish faith-based organisation working in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and Denmark. Our work is rooted in the Christian worldview and the belief that dialogue can build a more peaceful, just and sustainable world.
Danmission has been active for more than 200 years. Today, we work through strong, long-term partnerships and believe that local ownership and interfaith cooperation are key to lasting change.
We are based in Hellerup, just outside central Copenhagen. Around 40 staff support our work globally and nationally. Internationally, we have regional offices in Tanzania, Cambodia and Lebanon.
Our work is funded through private donations, income from 66 secondhand shops run by volunteers, and grants from institutional donors such as the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the EU.

The recruitment process
We ensure a respectful and transparent process from start to finish and welcome applicants of all backgrounds.
You can apply for open positions and upload your application via our system.
Applications are reviewed by the hiring manager, a relevant team member and HR. Selected candidates are invited to a short online screening interview.
First interviews focus on your motivation, professional skills and personal match. You’ll also get to know the role and Danmission as a workplace.
Candidates moving forward complete a personal profile test before a second interview. This test, handled by a certified HR professional, helps guide a conversation about your strengths, motivations and collaboration style.
Before hiring, we contact references – only with your permission.
If offered the job, you’ll receive a call followed by a written contract. If not selected, you’ll be notified either in writing or by phone after interviews.

Why we work at Danmission

"As a pastor, I have come to see peace, dialogue, and democracy not merely as tasks but as a way of life. Danmission’s work resonates deeply with this calling. Born into a Muslim family with a Christian father, I have lived the gift and challenge of interreligious dialogue from the beginning. In Danmission, I work with building peace and fostering understanding across cultures and faiths. It is not just work – it is my passion and vocation."
- Paul Mdumi, Programme Manager, peace and democracy Danmission East Africa

"I am lucky to work with Danmission MENA, where my colleagues care deeply about the work and go the extra mile to create a positive environment. Staff well-being and boundaries are always respected, and we have the flexibility to choose schedules and work methods that suit us – a real blessing in emergency settings. The workplace values our humanity, including our private lives, and trust and support make it a place where we can be productive and happy."
- Caline Saad, Programme Manager, Peacebuilding and Dialogue Danmission Middle East

"Being part of the finance team allows me to support Danmission’s work in a way that goes beyond numbers and budgets. I appreciate being part of an organization where transparency, trust, and strong partnerships are at the core – and where long-term collaboration is grounded in mutual respect and local engagement. The open environment where ideas and opinions are genuinely valued make a difference in our daily work."
- Donnellie dela Rosa, Finance Manager in Danmission Asia
