Nature & Climate
We support access to natural resources for those who need them most, help protect and steward nature and biodiversity, and address conflicts over natural resources and climate.
Explore our impact

Danmission supports local communities and Indigenous Peoples to prevent harm to vital ecosystems, strengthen resilience against environmental and climate-related crises, and foster inclusive participation in the governance of natural resources.
In contexts where deforestation, resource conflicts, and climate vulnerabilities threaten both livelihoods and ecosystems, we build long-term partnerships that connect local knowledge with sustainable stewardship. Through coalition-building, dialogue, and data-driven solutions, we empower communities to safeguard their rights and environments while addressing systemic drivers of environmental degradation.
With a proven record of supporting environmental justice initiatives and community-based conservation across Africa, the Middle East and Asia, Danmission brings deep-rooted trust, strategic alliances, and adaptive approaches to some of the world’s most vulnerable ecosystems and threatened landscapes.
Our commitment to sustainable, just and inclusive stewardship of natural resources continues to guide our contribution to global climate and biodiversity goals.

How we work with Nature and Climate
- Together with our partners, we are working in areas where climate change is having a noticeable impact and where the loss of nature and biodiversity is limiting the ability of local populations to access natural resources.
- Prevention: We support local populations who are dependent on access to natural resources, but where natural resources such as forests, water or soil are being depleted or destroyed, in their fight to stop or reduce the destruction.
- Resilience: We support the individuals and groups who are most affected by the destruction of nature and natural resources, helping them to restore their living conditions and strengthen their resilience in fragile situations characterised by unstable weather conditions or natural disasters.
- Participation: We support individuals and groups who depend on vital natural resources to advocate for their rights and work with relevant institutions to ensure their participation in decision-making processes concerning natural resources and just solutions to resource-related conflicts.
