Faith & Dialogue
Faith and dialogue are the foundation of Danmission’s work. Central to our approach is dialogue between people with different beliefs and worldviews.
Explore our impact

Faith and dialogue are the foundation of Danmission’s work. Rooted in our Christian values, we see faith as a source of hope and resilience, inspiring action for dignity, peace, and justice. Dialogue is a way of meeting others with openness and respect, creating space for understanding, cooperation, and peaceful coexistence across differences.
In all that we do — whether strengthening democratic participation or promoting sustainable stewardship of natural resources — we integrate faith and dialogue as both guiding principles and practical approaches. Faith offers motivation and moral grounding; dialogue provides the tools to build trust, resolve tensions, and navigate complexity.
Through decades of partnership with churches, faith-based organisations, and civil society actors, Danmission has demonstrated that faith-rooted engagement and inclusive dialogue are powerful drivers of lasting social transformation. These foundations support our commitment to prevention of conflict and exclusion, resilience of marginalised groups, and meaningful participation in decision-making.

We support networks and forums in promoting cross-cultural and interfaith relations, understanding and action through dialogue.
Faith and Dialogue: Our foundation
- We support churches, organisations and church-based educational institutions in promoting socially relevant forms of theology and action that are based on Christian hope, and which address specific and contextual issues.
- We help create safe spaces where people can meet, reflect, and support one another in difficult situations.
- We support networks and forums in promoting cross-cultural and interfaith relations, understanding and action through dialogue. We strengthen the development of innovative approaches to dialogue as a way of existing in a diverse and increasingly polarised world, and as tools for change, especially in circumstances marked by conflict.
- We work with diapraxis – dialogue through communities of action – as a method of both creating change in society and developing mutual understanding between groups across cultural and religious divides.

Dialogue and democracy in Danish schools
We work with dialogue through Din og min Verden (Your World and Mine), a course for teachers in Denmark that strengthens the dialogical and interreligious skills of both teachers and students. The project supports Danish schools in educating students to become democratic citizens and ensuring freedom of thought, speech, and belief.
